„It has a mind-blowing garden, where Café Littera is located.”
Writers’ House, located on Machabeli street, was built by David Sarajishvili, a brandy maker. The building is a great example of Art Nouveau architecture. The terrace of the Sarajishvili house features ceramic tiles by the famous Villeroy & Boch Company. The house used to host many of Georgia’s famous writers, whose turbulent lives and their often times tragic fate (due to the Soviet regime) is reflected in the building. In the ‘20s, this house was even called the Palace of Arts. Today, the palace has five rooms that are used as a residential space for artists. It has a mind-blowing garden, where Café Littera is located. It’s definitely a place worth dining!
