Rudas Bath – A thermal bath in the Turkish tradition, but with co-ed mingling on the weekends

„The spa’s rooftop jacuzzi has unbeatable views of the riverbank.”

Our Turkish guests left their cultural marks on our city in food and language, but also in the age-old tradition of attending baths. Budapest has an ample number of thermal baths, which first became popular when Hungary was still a part of the Ottoman Empire. They’re community places where people have been gathering for centuries. Keeping the single-sex tradition alive, Rudas still has days devoted strictly to men or to women. But during the weekend, the spa can be attended by both. There’s also a jacuzzi on Rudas’ roof with unbeatable views of the riverbank.
